Programme Overview

Mackintosh College is currently offering Free Training to eligible participant’s. If you are aged 25 years and over, are currently in the workforce or looking for work and do not have a Year 12 or Certificate level II qualification you may be eligible for a Work Skills Voucher.

The Work Skills Voucher is a great opportunity to improve basic skills for individuals that have no formal qualifications. This FREE training opportunity is aimed at assisting those, who are already in employment looking to progress their career AND those interested in gaining skills and qualifications, aspiring to enter the workforce.

Mackintosh College is a Nationally Recognised Training Organisation and approved by Department of Education, Science and Training to deliver courses under the Australian Skills Vouchers programme, and committed to delivering at the highest standard courses of a Certificate II Level.

  • How to Enroll for the Work Skills Voucher

    1. Read the course information provided on the specific courses available and select the specific course you are interested in gaining a qualification in.

    2. Contact Mackintosh College to schedule a time to bring your evidence to the college

    3. The college will, on your behalf, submit your application to DEST, who will then providing you meet all eligibility requirements, issue you with a voucher.

    4. DEST will send YOU the voucher, you then need to present the voucher to the college.

    5. The college will then organise a commencement date for you and provide you with a training plan, outlining the dates, and times of your training.

    All that is then required of you is to attend the class, enjoy the class, complete all tasks required successfully and you will graduate with a Certificate II Level in your desired course.

    Am I eligible?

    Be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident

    Over the age of 25 Not have completed Year 12, and

    Not have completed a Certificate II level course or higher

    Evidence Required
    • Birth certificate, medicare card or visa, and
    • Current drivers license or passport

     

    • If you are currently employed, you will need to show a current pay slip.
    • If you are currently receiving Personal Support, Disability Support, Vocational Rehabilitation Support or Parent or Carer’s payments, you will need to bring proof of this which may be a Income Statement and current Activity Agreement from Centrelink.

    What’s the fees and duration? If you meet the eligibility criteria, the course is then fully funded by DEST and you don’t have to make any payments . Course length differs from course to course

    Do I need to purchase any items for the course? No, all course materials are provided by the College

    Will anything change with my current employment? No, there will not be any changes with your current arrangement with your employer.

    Can I study and work? Yes, all participants are encouraged to continue their employment and have a formal outcome at the end.

    Can I get any exemptions? Exemptions are usually available where a student has completed equivalent studies and/or is eligible for recognition of prior learning.

    Do I need to submit any assignments/home works in order to be competent? Yes, in compliance with the each training package requirements students are encouraged to submit various assessments.
