Recognition of prior learning (RPL) as stated by the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) simply refers to the "assessment of previously unrecognised skills and knowledge an individual has achieved outside the formal education and training system". 

RPL is designed to encourage you to continually upgrade your skills and knowledge. Gaining recognition of prior learning will enhance your employment prospects in the future.
