COURSES:

   

If you are looking for a career or part-time work in Night Clubs, Hotels, Resorts, Licensed Clubs or Licensed Cafes, our hospitality short courses will provide you with all of the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills.  With a wide range of Bar, Gaming and Café Operations knowledge you will become a valuable prospective employee in a truly exciting sector of the Hospitality Industry.

These courses are delivered on campus, in our purpose designed hospitality classroom, in either daytime or evening classes to suit your availability.  You will learn about and develop skills using real-world equipment including a functioning bar area, professional coffee machine and gaming machines.  This industry relevant training facility ensures that you will gain all of the theoretical knowledge and practical skills that you will need to function at a professional level from day one.

Upon successful completion of a course, you will receive a Certificate of Attainment that will state the courses you have completed which will assist you in gaining employment to demonstrate to your prospective employer that you've attained the skills required for your new job. The RSA and RGS components of the course receive a Nationally Recognised certificate for the competencies you've completed.

Mackintosh College has strong Industry links in the Gold Coast region.  Our trainers are professionals in their fields and are an excellent source of information, advice or even referrals concerning positions available.  We demonstrate a very high employment rate thanks to the high quality of training provided.  The college also provides a Job Club service for those students requiring extra support to prepare for and gain employment.

 

Bar

If you are looking for a career or part-time work in a Night Club, Hotel, Resort or Licensed venue this course will provide all of the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills.  With a wide range of bar operation knowledge you will become a valuable prospective employee in a truly exciting sector of the hospitality industry.

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

If you are looking for a career or part-time work in the Hospitality Industry or have recently relocated from Interstate, this course will provide you with the necessary competency.  It is a legal requirement that Licensed venues adopt Responsible Service of Alcohol regulations and it has become accepted best practice that all employees hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.

The course is delivered on campus, by industry professionals, in either day time or evening classes to suit your availability.  A lecture style course, you will learn about the many procedures involved in identifying and dealing with a range of potential issues that can arise in Licenced venues.  With a working knowledge of current legislation, you will become a valuable prospective employee in a truly exciting sector of the hospitality industry.

 

Gaming

If you are looking for a career or part-time work in the Gaming Industry or simply to add to your current hospitality skill set, this course will provide you with all the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills.  Gaming has become a major component of Club, Hotel and Resort operations and is an Industry of rapid growth demanding quality staff that are knowledgeable about its many facets.  With a wide range of gaming knowledge you will become a valuable prospective employee in a high demand sector of the hospitality industry.

The course is delivered on campus, in our purpose designed hospitality classroom in either daytime or evening classes to suit your availability.  You will learn about and develop skills on real-world, up-to-date equipment including live gaming machines.  This industry relevant training facility ensures that you will gain all of the theoretical knowledge and practical skills that you will need to function at a professional level from day one.

 

Responsible Service of Gaming (RGS)

If you are looking for a career or part-time work in the Gaming Industry or have recently relocated from Interstate, this course will provide you with the necessary competency.  Society and government regulations require that gambling be monitored and patrons supported to avoid potential issues.  It has become accepted best practice that all employees in the gaming industry hold a Responsible Gambling Services certificate.

The course is delivered on campus by Industry professionals, in either daytime or evening classes to suit your availability.  A lecture style course, you will learn about current gambling regulations and the techniques for identifying problems and dealing with patrons.  With a working knowledge of current legislation, you will become a valuable prospective employee in a continually growing sector of the hospitality industry.

 

Coffee

If you are looking for a career or part-time work as a barista, or simply to add to your current hospitality skill set, this course will provide you with all of the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills.  As professional quality coffee machines become more readily available, employers are increasingly requiring staff with a flair for coffee creation.  During this course you will gain an appreciation for the qualities of coffee, practice creating a range of popular coffees styles and consolidate your food handling, waitering and cashiering skills.

The course is delivered on campus, in our purpose designed hospitality classroom, in either day time or evening classes to suit your availability.  You will learn about and develop skills using a professional coffee machine, following the bean from grinding through to table service.  This industry relevant training facility ensures that you will gain all of the theoretical knowledge and practical skills that you will need to function at a professional level from day one.
