If you are looking for a career or part-time work as a barista, or simply to add to your current hospitality skill set, this course will provide you with all of the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills. As professional quality coffee machines become more readily available, employers are increasingly requiring staff with a flair for coffee creation. During this course you will gain an appreciation for the qualities of coffee, practice creating a range of popular coffees styles and consolidate your food handling, waitering and cashiering skills.
The course is delivered on campus, in our purpose designed hospitality classroom, in either day time or evening classes to suit your availability. You will learn about and develop skills using a professional coffee machine, following the bean from grinding through to table service. This industry relevant training facility ensures that you will gain all of the theoretical knowledge and practical skills that you will need to function at a professional level from day one.
Upon achieving the outcomes of the course you will attain a partial certification in Certificate I in Hospitality (Operations). The competencies covered are nationally recognized and fully transferable to further Hospitality studies.
